Make sure they are loose, not tightly fitting. If they are amber tinted, switch to a darker brown tint. If they are a darker brown, switch to a black tint. If you wear glasses, consider “Transition” lenses, or ask for reduced glare and scratch resistant lenses.

Ask for polycarbonate lenses instead of glass, they are MUCH lighter, but may cost more. If you reduce your physical pain by getting lighter glasses, you WILL reduce some of your sensitivities overall. Lighter is better. Find the thinnest and lightest frames you can find. Even a little bit of extra weight can make a world of difference.

If clip-on sun glasses aren’t blocking out enough light for you, grab a chair and spend an hour trying on regular sunglasses over your glasses. Chances are you will eventually find a pair that fit over your glasses perfectly. I’ve found a few. Look for sunglasses that are flat, not bowed. | not ( shaped. If contacts are an option for you, or Lasik, even better. Neither are an option for me unfortunately, due to severe astigmatism, chronic dry eye, and $$.
