Itchy, Dry, Stiff, and Spasms – Central Sensitization

Central Sensitization Symptoms:

Dry and itchy skin without rash, dry mouth, dry eyes, increased muscle tightness, stiffness, spams, and pulls.

Solutions:

Are you drinking a fair amount of water per day? I mean at least 6 or 7 8oz glasses of water with nothing else in it per day? Part of the solution here is to drink more water if you are not drinking enough. The other part is to determine if you are ingesting too much of any one or more electrolytes, especially magnesium or potassium. If you are, reduce eating these foods. You should notice a difference in 4 days as long as you are drinking plenty of water.

However, don’t over due it on the water, as too little electrolytes often yields the exact side effects of too much. If you are a doctor and have a patient that is regularly having this issue, consider prescribing hydrochlorothiazide along with increased water intake to help speed up the process of evacuating minerals. Also determine if any medications may be contributing.
